Differential or transfer case fluid chapters on A6 C7 Quattro
Have a question/query about differential/transfer case fluid capacity.
I've been to a store to get the diff fluids changed and they charged me for 1L + 5L fluid. This seems excessive no? Which unequal has 5L chapters does anyone know? Car is a 2012 Audi A6 C7 Quattro.
They said they changed the rear diff fluid and there was no front end diff simply he said something in the middle with gears next to the manual so transfer case fluid I estimate. I repeat, non S-tronic transmission.
I have 2 entries on the nib for fluids:
1L (rear diff I assume)
5L of RAVENOL MTF-three SAE 75WWhich unequal has 5L capacity? Weird why they put in MTF fluid, so I can only assume its for the the transfer case where the gears are for the Quattro.

Rear Diff - approx 1L/1Q
Front Diff - approx 1L/1QTransfer Instance - a bit more than ane/2L or so.
I recently did my ii diffs and transfer case and used less than 3 quarts to supercede all 3.
The diffs have a GL5 gear oil which is 75W-xc constructed. The transfer case factory fill is GL4 and expensive. Audi dealer volition charge virtually $95 USD. BUT GL5 can supercede GL4 and the GL5 is much cheaper. I tin buy Valvoline GL5 for $18 USD at our local parts stores.
Here is a write up for the front differential on quattro equipped cars to prove location of the front differential. https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...ic)?p=13055402

Ok I have a resolution. Every bit information technology turns out DSG 0B5 also has MTF gear oil separate from the usual transmission oil. This carve up gear oil chamber holds 5L.

The Automatic portion takes half dozen.7L on a change of G052529A2
Transfer case takes four.35L of G055532A2 (this is the MTF gear oil role you lot are referring to and that Ravenol appears to be a uniform spec so it looks like you have a adept store.)
https://www.ravenol.de/en/product-ra...mtf-3-sae-75w/Rear Final Drive is 0.9L of G052145S2
Forepart Final Drive is 0.9L G052145A2
FWIW IF y'all have a Sport Diff Practice NOT get the two fluids mixed up, it will be a very big expensive mistake.
The Sport Diff ATF side is G-055-515-A2 ATFOn a side note tin yous tell me if you have the dreaded quattro rumble if make full lock low speed U-turns for example earlier and if it reduced now after the change?
I believe it is more prevalent on the 0B5 vs. the ZF8.2015 S6 Quartz Gray

I read on another forum someone say the same thing that his rumble went away after fluids modify but came dorsum once again in vi months. I assume the fluid thins out a bit at some point.
